Gary Foux
Gary Foux is the founding partner of ChipChecker Ltd., a multilingual entrepreneur, fluent in English, Russian and Chinese. With a background in computer Engineering, Gary has been working in Asia since 2000 for companies such as KIA Motors in Korea and Esqual in Hong Kong. Gary was responsible for implementing their network infrastructure and active directory implementation. Today Gary is working diligently to expand ChipChecker. With the increasing demand for quality and integrity in China, ChipChecker is constantly expanding and creating new services and new joint ventures on the ground in China.
ChipChecker was established in 2001 by Gary Foux, a Shenzhen based Canadian, who was regularly asked to check on quality of purchases sourced from China. Today, Gary and Chipchecker are well known in the China marketplace. In early 2007, Gary decided to expand his company, Hong Kong based Chipchecker Ltd. To do this Gary identified two partners that possessed complimentary skills and abilities. Jon Mayfield and Marcus Maher have 23 years and 21 years in IC and Semiconductor and China business experience respectively. Both Jon and Marcus have been taken on as full partners and carry active roles in ChipChecker's daily operations.
Jon R. Mayfield
Jon is a Multi-lingual Executive (MBA) veteran with over 23 years of China working experience. Jon's executive career includes General Management, Sales Management, Distribution Management and Sourcing Management in China, Hong Kong and Japan. Jon is experienced in the distribution of Electronic Components (IC’s), Security Software, Telecommunications. He has worked directly with many of the largest OEMs, EMSs, Telecommunication Carriers in China, Hong Kong, Japan and S.E. Asia.
Jon has a successful track record with multiple China based operations. Jon's experiences include: managing, sourcing, sales and marketing with the goal of optimizing revenues, profits and market share. “A successful team builder in China/ Asia.”
Jon has previously functioned as General Manager for a Shenzhen FICE Office, General Manager for a China Representative Office, Director of Sales for a Security Consulting Practice, Senior Sales Manager for Channels & Enterprise Accounts for a leading security software developer.
Jon’s first business trip to China was in 1985. Jon has previously lived in Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Jon now resides in Shenzhen, China. He speaks near-fluent Mandarin, conversational Japanese, Thai, Tagalog and Bahasa.
Jon holds a B.Sci. and an MBA from Eastern Illinois University where he also acclaimed awards for NCAA Swimming; All-American (13 times), 5 National Championships and 2 National records. Jon continues to swim and run on a regular basis when he is not Chip Checking!
Marcus Anthony Maher
Marcus Anthony Maher has established an assortment of companies and businesses in Asia and in particular China. The companies vary in scope, including a magazine, several language training centers and several consultancy companies specializing in investment, education, immigration and trading solutions.
Marcus currently functions as a Partner in ChipChecker Ltd, www.chipchecker.com , a Shenzhen based consultancy specializing in electronic components.
